WSD Celebrates World Theatre Day on March 27


WSD team will host a half-day conference on March 27 to celebrate World Theatre Day. Topics include WSD 2022 three sisters –Indigenous Ways of Knowing, Ecoscenography and Multiple Realities. Registration fee is $5 CAD. Join us to learn more about World Stage Design 2022.

 


WSD 2025 in Sharjah, UAE


OISTAT is pleased to announce that World Stage Design 2025 will be held in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates by Sharjah Performing Arts Academy (SPAA). World Stage Design is held every four years since 2005, with the theatre design exhibitions, Scenofest, Theatre Architecture Competition and Technical Invention Prize, WSD aims at providing a platform for exchanging knowledge and celebrating the cultural differences. Read the official announcement.

 


OISTAT Commissions Calls for Candidates for Chairs

OISTAT Publication & Communication Commission, Technology Commission and Sound Design Sub-commission will hold their annual meetings and the Chair elections during WSD 2022. The calls for candidates for the Chairs are now open. Please send the nominations to OISTAT HQ before deadline.

Call for TAC 2022 submission


Counting down for submissions to Theatre Architecture Competition! TAC is an international idea competition, aimed at students and emerging architecture practitioners. The theme of TAC 2022 is “Adaptable Outdoor Performance Space, submit your applications before April 30, 2022. More info.

 


 
APCEN: XIV National Meeting


OISTAT Portugal Center - Associação Portuguesa de Cenografia(APCEN) will hold the XIV National Meeting from March 26 to 27. The meeting will include the reflections of PT in PQ and PQ in PT, the launch of the Digital catalog of the XII National Meeting of APCEN, and of course, celebration for World Theatre Day. Last Call for Scenic Designs for aWAKEn


Hosted by The Wake Forest University Department of Theatre & Dance, aWAKEn invites performance designers from around the world to submit scenic designs for the Lauren Gunderson play “Silent Sky". A design will be selected by an international panel of six judges to be produced onstage during the 2022-2023 season for Wake Forest University Theatre. Deadline for entries is March 22, 2022.
