A longtime member of OISTAT Karin Winkelsesser gets Linnebach Ring

On the DTHG meeting on June 10th, Siegfried Stäblein, the previous winner of Linnebach ring and honorary chairman of DTHG, issue the Linnebach ring to Karin Winkelsesser. He paid tribute to the merits of Karin Winkelsesser for strengthening the professional association. She is the first woman to receive this award.



Linnebach lived from 1876-1963 and worked as a stage technician at many theaters. After his death, his widow donated the so-called Linnebach ring to be awarded to the most famous German technicians.

Karin Winkelsesser was DTHG chairman of 2006-2008 and is chief editor of Buehnentechnische Rundschau (BTR), the German magazine for stage technology, architecture and scenography. She started her career in 1984 as coordinator and translator at the German theatre consultants: Biste and Gerling in Berlin. In this function she acquired a wide knowledge in the field of stage technology and architecture and established an international network. Early in her career she started publish articles in BTR. From 1990 to 2005, Karin Winkelsesser was part of the leading team of OISTAT in different functions. As editor, her interests have focused on international exchange and cooperation. The attendance of international conferences and professional exchange is an integrated part of her activities.
