The Carnegie Mellon University School of Drama seeks a collaborative and visionary leader to serve as the next Head of the School. The CMU School of Drama was the first degree-granting drama school in the nation and remains celebrated in its field today, enriching numerous performing arts practices through the stellar work of its students, faculty, staff, and alumni. The School’s presence within a world class research university further strengthens its impact, as students and faculty have opportunity for interdisciplinary work and exploration of new forms of creative expression.

The School of Drama is home to 13 undergraduate programs and 10 graduate programs. The highly selective cohort of students contains 220 undergraduate students and a further 70 graduate students on average. More than 50 faculty and 30 staff teach and support across a variety of disciplines, in the classroom, and on stage. The School maintains a prolific schedule of more than 20 productions each year.
