In Memory of Professor Ursula Belden

Dear Colleagues,
On behalf of the international community of OISTAT, we would like to express our heartfelt sorrow to the passing of Professor Ursula Belden on 14th of January, and send condolences and sympathy to the United States Center of OISTAT- USITT as well as the family and friends of Professor Ursula Belden.
Being a constant recipient of numerous New York and national awards, Ursula Belden’s designs have been seen on Broadway, Off Broadway, in regional theatres from coast to coast, in Europe and Canada. Her works has also been regularly selected in the PQ USA exhibits in Prague. Professor Ursula Belden was not only a renowned designer; her excellent teaching had also earned her great respect and recognition by awards from the Tobin Theatre Arts Fund.
Ursula was also an active member of the OISTAT Scenography Commission. She took part in the National Exhibit for USITT in PQ2003, designed the structure for the World Stage Design Exhibit in Toronto in 2005 and dedicated her expertise and passion in various OISTAT projects. We appreciate her contribution and support to OISTAT’s work and activities.
Ursula was a great designer who shared her magnificent expertise with us. She is well remembered in our thoughts and prayers.
