Publication Working Group Report

OISTAT Congress, Prague June 2007

Karin Winkelsesser
Head, Publication Working Group

This will be a very short report, because their have not been any activities of the working group.

The working group had been founded to support publications of the commissions.
However, there have not been any requests from the commissions for support.
The Architecture Commission, which is – in terms of publications – the most active one, has organized the publication of the catalogue and all the material by itself.

What exists, however, is a regular informal exchange between the editors of the European magazines, i.e. Proscenium. Zichtlijnen, AS and BTR.
Especially Michael Gladyrewski has undertaken initiatives for a more intense collaboration on a European level and will make proposals which also could be profitable for OISTAT. He has applied for membership in the PCC.

I also must admit that I have not had the required time for a chair to take care of the activities of the commission. As I became member of the board of our national organisation, DTHG, and then also President (which was not planned), I had and still have to do a lot of work with this new activity.

On the other hand I see more and more that nowadays, publications are not done by a working group but are done by individuals. A group can take up an initiative and organise a project. If such a project comes up in one of the commissions, I would certainly try to reactivate the PCC, i.e. for publications in the context of the 40th anniversary of OISTAT. The basis of publications are the contents, and if we get these, then many things are possible!
