Dear friends,
On behalf of the Provincial Committee of the UNEAC in Santiago de Cuba, I had the honor to invite you to the International Symposium on Carnival Design which will be held on July 17-27, in Santiago de Cuba city, CUBA, during the largest cultural festival – The Carnival Festival Santiago 2007.
It is our pleasure to have you joining our celebration. The occasion also provides an opportunity to develop the bridge of friendship and to strengthen the cultural relationship between our countries and institutions. In addition, we would also like to extend to you a further invitation to a meeting of Photo Editors and Audiovisual artists in Santiago de Cuba City, which is also a part of the Carnival Design Symposium.
Due to the financial situation, we regret that we are unable to cover your expenses during your stay in Cuba. Delegates who are coming to the event will have to be responsible for their own travel arrangement as well as the local costs including the accommodation and transportation. Nevertheless, during the Symposium the CUBANACAN Travel agency is offering accommodation in hotel Versalles (four stars) in Santiago de Cuba city on a special rate of 27 CUC (1 Cuban currency = 82 cents USD), including breakfast and lunch. This hotel Versalles has air conditioning, pool, and for many times was considered the best and most beautiful hotel on the eastern part of Cuba. For 5 CUC extra the agency is granting two transfers on taxi from hotel to Carnival parade area any time of the day. The hotel is located five minutes from city town. Meanwhile, the registration fee of symposium costs 50 CUC and includes welcome concert and one parade entry free, workshops at UNEAC house and city town tour.
You are also very welcome if you would like spend a few more days before or after the event, which may bring you cultural exchange opportunity with Cuban professionals and artists.
