Questions Received and Responses

Question 1:

I would like to know if there any file about the areas in term of meters
(each unit). And I would like to know the right form to fill in order enter in the
competition. I would like to know if the entry fee (is 50 euros per entry)
is per person or per team, and when.

Answer:

There is no fixed area for the project. It is for entrants to decide.

There is no form to fill in - read the brief and follow the directions.
Entry fee is per entry, whether from a team or an individual.

Question 2:

Hello, I am a student and I have a quick question for you.  I am just making sure that I have read the competition guidelines correctly and that we are allowed to work in groups.  In my case I am planning on working with one of my peers here in my class, please let me know if I am correct in my assumptions.

Answer:

Yes, working in groups is encouraged.

Question 3:

Is it permitted (by the proposition of the competition) to choose site - a reconstruction of an existing building which was never used for performances and was never build for that kind of use?

Answer:

No, the brief specifically asks for a new building, not the re-use of an old building.

Question 4:

We are a group of students of theatre technique. We decided to take part in this year's Architecture Competition.

After reading the competition folder, there are two questions we would like to ask.

Does the site of the theatre have to be empty, or could we also choose a location for which we would have to change existing structures and buildings?

Is it necessary that we enlist our participation now?

Answer:

The brief specifically asks for a new building, not the re-use of an old building.

You do not need to register your intention to participate now. You simply have to send your entry and fee by the date specified in the brief.

Question 5:

To help us fully understand the connection with the site, what is the
thought process behind the requirement for "a location with a waterfront
setting?”

Do we choose any random numerical code for the entry? What are the
possibilities we choose the same numbers as another entry?

Answer:

The brief is clear that the building must be located close to water. It is for entrants to choose a site and interpret this.

You choose a random six digit number. We have not had the same number twice yet, but we will check, just in case it happens.

Question 6:

this is one question I have about OISTAT - Architecture Competition:
Can we design a theatre with more than one room of 500 seats?

Answer:

The brief requires a space for live performance with an audience of 500 people. Only one performance space is required.

Question 7:

I'd like to ask about the limits of Area for the competition.

what is the minimum area allowed for the design, and also the maximum?

Answer:

There is no fixed area for the project. It is for entrants to decide.
