ABrIC organized events to stimulate local interest in the coming WSD
ABrIC, the OISTAT Brazilian Center, organized several events respectively in Curitiba, Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo to generate local artists’ interest in the coming WSD 2009.
A seminar on "Lighting for Opera" took place in São Paulo, with two Italian designers, Maurizio Gianandrea and Alberto Roccheggiani. José Henrique acted as interpreter along with his colleague Carmine D'Amore from the São Paulo branch of ABrIC.
The Curitiba section of ABrIC also hosted a full week of workshops and discussions on theatre technology, and they scheduled this meeting with local designers to stimulate their participation in the next edition of WSD. About 30 people came and were very interested in the material shown.
Another meeting in Rio de Janeiro will take place on 14th of November.
Through these events, ABrIC hopes to stimulate more registrations for WSD 2009 than they had in 2005.
